Another Constitutional Challenge to the Affordable Care Act

A new appeal has been filed challenging the constitutionality of the Affordable Care Act. This time opponents to the law contend it violates the Constitution’s Origination Clause, a provision requiring tax-raising bills to originate in the U.S. House of Representatives. Opponents argue that the Affordable Care Act actually is a revenue-raising bill that had originated in the U.S. Senate.
